Excellent scores for Viña Cousiño Macul in the Descorchados Guide 2022

If 2020 was a challenging year, 2021 is no different. Without a doubt, the spread of Covid-19 has posed great challenges across all industries. However, our Winemaking Team does not stop, and their efforts and years of experience are paying off, once again delivering… excellent news for our consumers!

The influential Descorchados Wine Guide, headed by Chilean wine critic Patricio Tapia, awarded excellent scores to the labels presented by Viña Cousiño Macul for its 2022 edition. On this occasion, 3 of our wines were awarded and the 12 labels presented obtained scores over 91 points.

Winning wines :

• Best White Blend: Finis Terrae White Blend, 2019 vintage, with 95 points.
• Revelation: Cabernet Franc, 2019 vintage, with 93 points.
• Revelation: Isidora Riesling, 2019 vintage, with 91 points.

Highlight scores :

Leading these recognitions is our Iconic Lota Wine , 2017 vintage, which obtained 96 points , positioning itself within the Ranking of the Best Red Blends and the Ranking Best Maipo Andes .

The next place is occupied by another red blend: Finis Terrae Red Blend , 2015 vintage, which obtained 95 points . This blend, which varies every year, is composed of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 12% Syrah.

Also with 95 points , the winner is found Best White Blend for the second consecutive year, Finis Terrae White Blend , 2019 vintage. This blend is composed of 57% Chardonnay, 29% Riesling and 14% Viognier, obtaining a wine of high and complex aromatic intensity.

We continue with another white wine: Gota de Luna , 2021 vintage, which reached 94 points and positioned itself in the Best of Malleco Ranking . The grapes for this elegant Sauvignon Blanc come precisely from the Malleco Valley, in the south of our country, resulting in a wine with fresh and balanced acidity.

For its part, our Cabernet Sauvignon, W [Double U:] , 2018 harvest, obtained outstanding 94 points . The grapes for this wine come 100% from our vineyard in Paine and it stands out for its marked notes of ripe red and black fruits.

• Antiguas Reservas Cabernet Sauvignon, 2019 vintage, 93 points.
• Antiguas Reservas Chardonnay, 2020 vintage, 92 points.
• Claret – Limited Edition, 2021 vintage, 92 points.
• Antiguas Reservas Carmenere, 2019 vintage, 92 points.
• Old Reserves Merlot, 2017 vintage, 91 points.
