Descorchados 2021: a year of great scores for Cousiño Macul

Great news for our consumers! As in previous years, Cousiño Macul presented some of its labels to the renowned wine critic, Patricio Tapia, taster of the influential Descorchados Guide, achieving outstanding scores where our blends stood out.

Among the highlights is our Iconic Wine Lota, 2014 vintage, which obtained 96 points, positioning itself within the Ranking of Best Red Blends. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot comes from grapes from the best and oldest plots of our vineyard in Macul, from vines planted in 1932 and 1981, respectively.

For its part, our Finis Terrae White Blend, 2018 vintage, achieved 95 points, winning the award for Best White Blend . This elegant blend is made up of three white strains: Chardonnay, Viognier and Riesling, the latter two being rare strains in our country.

In the next place, we found one of our Cousiño Macul Limited Editions: Claret, 2020 vintage. This Carbonic Maceration Cabernet Sauvignon received 94 points, placing it among the guide's Revelation wines.

Also with 94 points we find Gota de Luna, 2019 vintage , an elegant Sauvignon Blanc whose grapes come from the Malleco Valley. This spectacular white wine has received excellent reviews for its elegant citrus notes that led it to position itself within the Mejores Malleco Ranking.

Our Antiguas Reservas Cabernet Sauvignon, 2018 vintage, was not far behind and also received 94 points . An elegant wine, which we have not stopped producing since its launch on the market in 1927.

Another of ours Cabernet Sauvignon stood out with 94 points, with its 2017 vintage . This premium wine, 100% from our Buin vineyards, has surprised the market with its exuberance of fruit and higher tannin content.

Without a doubt, a year of outstanding scores for Cousiño Macul, which in addition to being a good reference for our consumers, demonstrate how proud we are to continue doing what we know and what we like most: wine!
