Isidora Riesling from Viña Cousiño Macul stands out as “Value White Wine of the Year” in Tim Atkin MW's 2021 report

For the fifth edition of this report, the British critic tested more than 1,000 national labels from England.
Excellent news for Viña Cousiño Macul consumers. In his most recent annual report on Chilean wines, renowned British Master of Wine, Tim Atkin, recognized the 2019 vintage Isidora Riesling wine as “Value White Wine of the Year” at El Podio.
This white wine, inspired by Isidora Goyenechea, one of the founders of Viña Cousiño Macul, It has been part of the portfolio of this traditional winery since the 1970s. and has become one of the favorites of its consumers over the years. The cuttings of this strain were brought directly from Germany by Luis Cousiño and Isidora Goyenechea, in their time, and they have developed in an extraordinary way in the Maipo Valley, where the grapes for a large part of the wines of this vineyard come from.
For the 2021 edition of this report, The renowned British critic tested more than 1,000 national labels – white and red wines – from his home in England, since due to the health contingency he was unable to make his traditional trip to our country.
Unlike other white strains, Isidora Riesling It is a wine that accompanies very well preparations of slightly higher intensity , such as sweet and sour and spicy dishes, characteristic of Asian cuisine, and is available for sale in the Viña Cousiño Macul Online Store.
In addition to this recognition, Cousiño Macul obtained another 6 wines with scores over 90 points: its iconic wine, Lota, received 96 points; Finis Terrae Red Blend, 93 points; W [Double U:], 92 points; Finis Terrae White Blend, 91 points; Antiguas Reservas Cabernet Sauvignon, 91 points; and Gota de Luna with 90 points.
