Cousiño Macul se une a Wine in Moderation para promover el consumo responsable de alcohol

The programme has activities in more than 26 countries worldwide and seeks to contribute to reducing the harmful effects related to excessive alcohol consumption.

Working in the wine industry, especially in a country where wine culture is part of its history and traditions, is a great responsibility. Our teams are always trying out new techniques, tasting new vintages, and constantly communicating with consumers about our wines. This is why, In line with our Corporate Social Responsibility efforts carried out by our Sustainability Department, we joined Wine in Moderation (WiM).

This international programme, founded by the European wine sector, seeks to inspire healthy and beneficial lifestyles for people, helping to reduce the harmful effects related to excessive alcohol consumption. To achieve this goal, the organization aims to reinforce this message to all professionals in the sector and involve them in various actions.

As is known, sustainability is a multifactorial objective, within which a key one is “We want to promote responsible alcohol consumption ,” says Nicolás Garib, General Manager of Viña Cousiño Macul. “ We are interested in promoting a healthy lifestyle in which we believe that wine plays an important role, in the right situations and quantities. In this sense, adhering to the Wine In Moderation program supports us based on studies, empirical cases and different forms of training, in order to always be at the forefront in matters of responsible consumption.”

Wine in Moderation works on the basis of scientific evidence, with which it encourages responsible business practices and promotes responsibility and moderation.

In addition to our joint participation with Wine in Moderation, the Sustainability Department of Cousiño Macul carries out different actions throughout the year linked to the social sphere, which seek to be a contribution to the communities in which we are inserted, either by receiving students in practice so that they learn and get involved in the areas that are of interest to them, as well as by carrying out Community Seminars on various topics.
